I would like to explore the ego and self in this project. The ego being a reinforced idea of yourself. This idea of yourself comma born of thoughts about yourself. The reinforcement of yourself can manifest in two ways. Not only can it be inflated ideas about being better, special and superior. The personality can also be reinforced as unworthy, broken or simply not good enough. It seems that if you are highly invested in your self image, praise and achievements will be highly dependent on to feel ok full stop the swing of this dependency is that the person who needs reinforcement will also be very sensitive to criticism or any seaming fears this person then does not feel ok about who they are full stop it is a very common human traits that exists in us all to varying degrees full stop from feeling mildly imbalanced or narcissistic to the narcissistic personality in rare cases leading into the sociopathic personality. With the idea of the Inner narcissist in mind. It made me think about the self on one side as grooming in nature, the side that fluffs up the ego comment that reinforced as elements of self as not only being ok, but better or superior to others. this idea of the inner groomer is something I want to explore.

I started to think about representing this in an installation, a hairdressing room, with all the hairdressing equipment laid out for use. But for it to be arranged somehow in a way that it looked menacing.  The reason I would want it to look menacing, would be to show how the Grooming ego boosts egoic qualities, then tortures you when the ego boosting is believed.

The self being groomed up and also abused. Resulting in suffering.

Maybe blood in the hair salon floor. Hair tongs, straighteners , scissors , razors looking like torture implements .
