I did not feel ready to present a live improv performance this morning. I was still trying to pull it together.
Finding the common ground between dressing as wonder woman.(80’s female role model ) The setting as as a home living room.
The old war game/ craft kit (a young boy in the 80’s influence) Teddy or a dead person or an audience member as the silent participant. Who would not talk through the performance. One sided because I can do the acting. It could also represent that ever present feeling of aloneness?
It felt like a car crash of juxtaposing items and themes.
Last night I would give it a go and film the piece.
The conversation with teddy wasn’t working yet. I put that to one side.
The improvisation that came out was of a woman in a shabby wonder woman costume over ordinary clothes. She talks about her job. It’s based on the original TV show. But the accent is a stronger Geordie accent. Suggesting a normal working woman. It seems to highlight the ridiculousness of this kind of female icon.
At the time I thoroughly enjoyed the beauty the power and the glamour.
