Margaret Harrison

Margaret Harrison uses irony in her feminist art work. Her first ever exhibition in 1971 was shut down by the police, because it was said to be pornographic. In one piece she portrayed Hue Hefna as a naked bunny girl and captain America with his breasts showing.
Much of her works over the years have been about class, sex and violence.
Her works are powerful and straight to the point, the message clear.
My theme is appearing as sensation or death.
Fantasy as sensationalism, the character ‘Wonder woman’ being eternal, untouchable ( ideas of the everlasting spirit)
Verses the human who is fragile, vulnerable.
I would like to bring the satire and irony clearly into my performance and painting.
